Rather, point irrelevent.  Remember, we're talking about race relations in the context of today, not 150+ years ago.  Things do change, my dear.

Eh?  You lost me.  What are you referring to here?

I'd imagine if you say something, you'd support what you're saying.  Just because you only said it "once" doesn't make it any less relevent.

Yea things do change...some things dont. There is still discrimination on blacks today. It may not be as bad ass 150+ years ago but its still bad enough. Take the school in mississippi who just got hip to interracial proms. Then at that some white parents didnt even let their kids attend.Point proven

In one forum you said I constantly talk about how white thugs on black thugs and blah blah blah...I was referring to that...saying I wouldnt say constantly seeing as I only brought it up once. And yea its relevant and it still proved my point. The same situation on both sides...and both events happened....the whites dont get nearly as bad of a punishment as the blacks. Ive seen it over 10+ times. I was speaking of personal experience, not opinion.

Discrimination hurts everyone but reverse dicrimination has not been going for deceades and ended up in years of ppl being denied even basic human rights. It hasn't ended in whites being slaves of nonwhites, it hasn't made laws forbiding whites from bringing their wif and children in the US, it hasn't put them in camps (in the US anyway).

I think thats really what she means.

What is true though is that some whites have been discriminated by other whites like jews being discriminated by christians. And catholics by protestants, And Irish and italians discriminated against by english origin ppl.

But is wasn't for as long and as bad.
It dont justify reverse discrimination. But it  dont mean you can compare it either.

no I was implying that you cant possibly know what I go through just as I wouldnt know what you go through. The only way we could actually compare it if we were both black or both homosexual.

And what similar problems do they face? Tell me...

And I was saying because you are white you will never know what a black person goes through, you dont know our discrimination. Just as because Im straight I will never know the discrimination that a homosexual goes through. Thats what I meant...duh!

you were implying that you were somehow worse off... if you don't know the similar problems between minorities + discrimination then you're more stupid than i originally thought, which is pretty amazing

No I wasnt. I was implying that we cant possibly know what each other goes through because we havent experienced it. Like I just said.

Also other than the obvious being discriminated against...

I want specifics. I never heard of homosexuals being lynched. I never heard of segregated proms between straight and gay. I want specifics, and if you didnt understand that then your more stupid than you make your self seem. But if you cant back your claim up...then your claim is DENIED!

I didnt say personal experience of mine... I didnt say I got lynched. I was saying I never heard of a homosexual being lynched.

Point is minority or not...we dont know exactly what eachother goes through. You know damn well you will never know what a black person goes through for the simple fact that your not black. I will never know what a homosexual goes through because Im not homosexual. GET THAT THROUGH YOUR HEAD! you cant compare one to the other, thats like apples and oranges. Yea they are fruit but they are different.

Yeah sure whites CAN be discriminated against but its NOT FOR being white (except with reverse discrimin obv)

Seafrcat is discriminated for being GAY NOT for being WHITE.

Some whites were discriminated for being italians or irish but NOT for being whites.

Blacks were made into slaves BECAUSE they were black and easy to recognize.

Skin Color and Status
Southern law largely identified skin color with status. Those who appeared African or of African descent were generally presumed to be slaves. Virginia was the only state to pass a statute that actually classified people by race: essentially, it considered those with one quarter or more black ancestry as black. Other states used informal tests in addition to visual inspection: one-quarter, one-eighth, or one-sixteenth black ancestry might categorize a person as black.

Even if blacks proved their freedom, they enjoyed little higher status than slaves except, to some extent, in Louisiana. Many Southern states forbade free persons of color from becoming preachers, selling certain goods, tending bar, staying out past a certain time of night, or owning dogs, among other things. Federal law denied black persons citizenship under the Dred Scott decision (1857). In this case, Chief Justice Roger Taney also determined that visiting a free state did not free a slave who returned to a slave state, nor did traveling to a free territory ensure emancipation.

Perhaps the most distinctive feature of Africans, however, was their skin color. Because they looked different from their masters, their movements were easy to monitor. Denying slaves education, property ownership, contractual rights, and other things enjoyed by those in power was simple: one needed only to look at people to ascertain their likely status.

Using color was a low-cost way of distinguishing slaves from free persons. For this reason, the colonial practices that freed slaves who converted to Christianity quickly faded away. Deciphering true religious beliefs is far more difficult than establishing skin color. Other slave societies have used distinguishing marks like brands or long hair to denote slaves, yet color is far more immutable and therefore better as a cheap way of keeping slaves separate. Skin color, of course, can also serve as a racist identifying mark even after slavery itself disappears.

The thing is he MIGHT be discriminated against but its ONLY if ppl KNOW he's gay. If he was nonwhite he CANT escape it.
