Well my school never taught about "regualr" discrmination unless it was in history. So I don't know why it's talked about in your school. PLus any where discrimination is used on job aplications etc. It does not specify..... sooo what ur referring to is what people generally think of when they think of discrimination? That can't be helped, it wasn't that it was taught so much as to what happens more frequently. When's the last time you heard about a white woman being tied up, pissed on, and cut up, by 6 black people?

Reverse discrimination is rare, and frankly I don't believe it's a serious issue.

it's "rare" because it's not as well publicized.

whites are forced to walk on egg shells, many of us can't even approach the race topic irl without fear of being labeled racist, and lets face it, racism against whites is pretty much accepted.

LOL, oh please. That's bullshit and you know it. When do us white people ever walk on egg shells.

I wouldn't call it reverse discrimination, I'd say it would just be considered plain discrimination.

I completely disagree because reverse discrimination expresses the fact that a minority is racist against a white person as a result of their being discriminated against in the past.  Plain old discrimination does not express that.  As a result, plain old discrimination does not express the whole story.  I do not believe that most minorities would be racist against whites were it not for the fact that discriminatory laws against minorities were put in place in the past.

Seafercat speaks the truth.  I've felt pressured to watch my mouth when talking about racism in many classes in the past for fear of being perceived as racist.  Yet you'll often find minorities shooting out what they think without a second thought as they do not share that same fear.  People are quicker to jump on whites for racism than minorities like it or not.

Hmm, that's an interesting conjecture, there are many different reasons for being racist, and I find myself somewhat agreeing with your reasoning behind this so-called "reverse discrimination." I can see people hating and discriminating against white people because of the discrimination/tragedy that their ancestors went through, however that is not the main case. Although, I have to say that I don't think there is always one defined reason to racism.

That wasn't a question. Besides, I don't think most white people are genuinely afraid of being called a racist. Discrimination exists not only against white, and not only against blacks.

The point of this topic is just to try and prove that white people are being more severely discriminated against than any other race. That's bullshit because everyone is discriminated against.

rofl. the point of this topic is to point out the complacency of people regarding white discrimination, isn't is?

oh wait, a white person made it, of course there's ulterior motives and underlying digs at minorities

Of course there's no one defined reason, but it's certainly a popular one. If you ever see a black person who feels oppressed by the white man and ask him why he feels that way, he'll probably bring up anti-black discriminatory laws in the past and slavery. Historical discrimination is often a favorite minorities use to justify any kind of reverse racism they have today.  Remember, the key idea in reverse racism is that it's reactionary - they're reacting with racism to racism against them, and in general you see them reacting to it by what they know about racism in the past. They have a very difficult time justifying themselves today, especially when we have a half black candidate running for president, so often times you'll see them ignore the present and focus solely on the past.

Depends on your location really. You can find places where White people will gladly say something blatantly racist, and think it's correct. You can find places where a Hispanics will say something racist, and think it's true.

You can find places where racism even to the slightest degree is blown up larger than it needs to be. You can find places where things that are very racist are ignored.

It really is just location. It's not everywhere that white people are victims, I rarely see it, but I am aware that it happens. Why? Because of where I live. Just like I'm sure there are people who don't see racism against minorities. While I'm also sure there are places where this is not an issue in the very least.

However I don't agree that in Grade School we are taught that white people are evil, and racist. At least in my schools this was not the case.

I advise you to go back and reread my OP because that is not the point of this topic.

The point of this topic is to highlight the fact that whites can be discriminated against by minorities, too.  This is often not focused on in schools, by the media, etc.  As a result, whites are often seen as the oppressors when in the reality of today, they are not, and quite often are also the victims.

Try going back and quoting where I said that minorities are not discriminated against.

Like I said, the point of this topic is to try and make it seem as if whites are far more discriminated against, really.

Now that I think about it, I've read something...similar to this on some white supremacist forums, along with some replies. I'm sure there's no reason for this, and just another coincidence in the world.
