Obviously you don't know much about PC... Personal computers are far more capable than a console. (Essentially a console is a stripped down computer.)
This is false, clearly you don't know much about consoles. Consoles have an entirely separate infrastructure, and since your PC likely does not have, for instance, an HDDVD player or a BLUE RAY player, it's not so simple to put any given console game on the PC anymore, you can't have Metal Gear Solid 4 on a personal computer right now, for instance. Consoles use a different hardware setup which is optimized specifically for what it is they do whereas your average Personal Computer is going to have two cores for processing, your console will have eight or more. Consoles definitely aren't "inferior" to personal computers when it comes to gaming.

By the way, my personal computer's specifications are probably far higher than yours.

HD-DVD/Blu-Ray Players are not expensive. So I am sure more people have them then you think. Quick online search pulls two affordable blu-ray/HD-dvd (Both in one) burner's $165 and $199. That's not the point anyway. For example, I find my computer to be far superior to any console. Eventually it could boil down to personal opinion and availability of games. EX: Elder Scrolls Oblivion IV looks much better on my PC vs XBOX 360. Both use the same 32in HD LCD display. With PC you also have many more modding/tweaking opportunities. I am not for cheating, but the ability to have UI mod's as well as user created levels can be a lot of fun. You can currently use the xbox 360 controller on the PC, both wired and wireless... The wired one plugs right in and works with most games. (If not, there is likely a keymapping available, or there are 3rd party programs.) The wireless one does require a wireless receiver. There are also many after market options available. As I said, it will always boil down to personal choice. My computer would not be considered your average computer, and for the price a console is usually the best option. However most people need a computer, so if you take the average computer at $800, and the average console at $400... You can build one hell of a custom computer for $1200 or less.

When you don't want to have a $3000 PC then PS3 is a good choice and its one of the best blu-ray players out there.
