My dog wears a tag, but my cat doesn't.

Sorrow drips into your heart through a pinhole
Just like a faucet that leaks & there is comfort in the sound.
But while you debate half empty or half full
It slowly rises, your love is gonna drown.

You should also always get your pets neutered or spayed.

Dogs should wear tags at all times, even when they are inside because you never know when they might accidently run out of the house.  The only way someone could identify your dog is if it was wearing a tag.

Tags are not the only way. Microchips are gaining in popularity a lot. Tags are becoming obsolete in many places aside from rabies tags.

It's a lot easier for people to just read a name on a tag than take a dog to the vet which or may or may not have a chip reader.

It's also a lot more likely that a person will steal a dog and throw a collar away, or for a tag to fall off. A microchip is used for solid identification. Collars don't always stay on.

And? That doesn't mean anything. The wand is waved over their entire body.

None of my dogs have tags but all of them wear collars. In this area, you don't see very many animals wear tags, really. Not very many people can afford that... I'm surprised I see collars on more than half the animals here.

It's only five bucks to get a tag made with your name and address. =\

My family isn't exactly in the best spot right now financially. I have been looking into it though, so it's not something that's completely out of the question for me. But right now, I have to get 2 of them fixed first. My neighbors know who my dogs are and vice versa, so we watch out for each other's animals- that's the one good thing about my neighborhood.

I beat the shit out of some kids today. But it was for a
purpose. It made me feel good about myself. It was
like I did something constructive with my life or something,
I dunno, like I accomplished something.

Then I guess having both is the perfect solution.

By the way, the microchips out now don't only scan for a number. They can also insert a microchip that does that, as well as tracks your dog. There's always various ways, other than just rinky dink tags, to get your pets back if they run away or become stolen.
