(I'm just going to call it the disc drive because I don't know what it is called )

I put a cd into the disc drive to import it onto iTunes.

Normally, a little menu comes up and I click import to iTunes but it didn't come up. I took the disc out and put it back in twice after and it still didn't work.

I went into my computer and when I clicked the disc drive and it said that there was no disc's in the disc drive.

I have no idea what is going on? It is a new cd. I only got it on Friday.

Asides from it being scratched, I have no idea. Try updating your drivers?

Try opening Itunes and there should be a thing you can click to import a CD.

If you can't see it in "My Computer" then the fault is with the computer or Windows and not iTunes.

Have you tried using other discs and see whether if that works. If it does the CD is damaged, otherwise if nothing else works then the drive might be broken or a cable might be loose.

I was watching a DVD today and it was working fine. I didn't try any other cd's though.

Try it again then, see what that does. Try a few CDs and a few DVDs.

I'm guessing the disc is damaged.  It's an audio cd, right?  Does it work in an audio cd player?

It is working now. I have no idea what is wrong with my laptop but I seriously think it should get checked out. Something will not work yet a few hours later, it will.
