Ok, I have a couple of problems with facebook currently and was just wondering if anyone else has either the same or similar problems as well. I don't care what you think about facebook or if it's worse than other social networks... just simply asking if you have a facebook account and if you're having these problems- that's it.

Now that I have that out of the way...

Problem #1--
While I'm surfing through facebook for some time (not really very long sometimes), it just stops functioning almost. You know the little page laoding thing at the bottom of your screen and it will tell you if your page is done loading by saying "Done". Well, mine will say "Stopped" as if I pressed the little button at the top of the screen to stop it from loading- which I don't push it. I've had this problem for a couple of weeks now, and since then I have upgraded to Firefox 3.0 and still have the same problem. Usually the only way to navigate around this issue is to right-click and create a new tab from the link. That can be annoying after some time though.

Problem #2--
I have reported this to Facebook several times, but I don't know if it's just my networks or all networks all over. First, in order to understand what I'm about to talk about, you need Facebook's Marketplace app. On mine, it is 2 weeks behind and supposedly there isn't any new listings up- even though I just put one up the other day. It's been like this since, like, last October and November. I use it all the time and I check it all the time. It's just annoying when you're about to move out of the area and need to sell things within the next couple of days, but it takes Facebook 2 weeks to update the marketplace. Rather ridiculous in my opinion.

The apps are third party created, not facebook created, so they're a lot less reliable than the core of the site.

1) I've had issues with facebook's speed before, and the stopped is usually due to a timeout or too many connections to facebook. This is simply because facebook is very popular and their servers can't handle all the traffic, at least it seems to be. So when you try it again a second or two later, the traffic might be different which is why it might work.

2) My marketplace app seems to be working fine, though I rarely use it anyway. The postings seem to be fairly recent, though people don't often post on it that much around here.

Problem #1--
I don't have this problem, but my facebook does become sketchy at random times, and won't load like normal no matter what I do. I don't think it has anything to do with how long I've been on, at least not in my case.

Problem #2--
I don't use marketplace, but I haven't heard any of my friends complain about this.

Marketplace is Facebook's own application, and as such, is not 3rd party.

Facebook's Marketplace is their app, which has been around before the third party apps. It's just treated like an app, much like their Notes, Groups, Gifts, and even the Photos.

I do refresh it and it still acts up. That's why I usually right-click it and open the link up in a new tab. After I do that, it works like normal.

How old is the most recent posting on your marketplace?

Hmm, that's rather strange.

Now that I've checked it, it is behind, June 13th. Last time I checked it it was working fine (a few months ago), so it's definitely not an isolated problem.

1. This happened to me for the first time yesterday. Hasn't since though, it might be something with your computer.

2. Although my marketplace app has been working fine, networks have officially been completely removed from Facebook. It just goes by what you put down as your location, if anything. This might have fixed the problem, have you checked recently?

Nope. As I said, I just posted something a couple of says ago, and it's still not popping up on there.

I might try to complain again... but who knows if that would work. I know they're about to update again, but I really wished they would also work on current bugs they have as well. I mean, this has been going on for several months now. It shouldn't be that hard to fix, since it's such a big company now.
