Some girls can get so attached to boys, they cant let go. Its only because its their first love and they arent used to the feeling and just dive in. They have sex and get pregnant. I've made my decision, I'm staying a virgin until I'm engaged. Everyones getting pregnant, its like the IN thing. For the first time in my life, I geuss I'm gonna be the outcast. The only reason I wont have sex is because of the whole pregnancy thing though. Is it really THAT hard to remain a virgin? I dont stasrt H.S till august and I dont really see how peeer pressure will affect me.

Well, let me first say that it is so ridiculously easy to have sex and not get pregnant, you know?  So that's kind of a dumb reason.  I mean, condoms are like 99.9% effective, and I'm a paranoid person so I'm on the pill and I still make him use them, because that totally makes up for the .1%
So hey, good for you for making up your own mind on things, but your reasoning isn't that sound.

Also, it's not peer pressure that influences people so much as it is love.  At least for me anyway.  I wanted to date a guy for at least a year before having sex, but after like 4 months with my boyfriend I was like there is no real reason for me to wait, so I waited one more month for good measure haha, but then we did it.  I guess it's just when you're actually in the situation, your reasoning kind of changes.

Besides, how many guys at your age are really going to want a relationship? If you're having sex when you're just starting high school, chances are you're just getting used. Not all of the time, but...yeah. High school guys.

Sex is just not something to rush into. Just because you can use protection and prevent a baby, it doesn't mean that you should have sex. Are you people saying that thirteen-year-olds should have sex all the time just because they're capable of using birth control and condoms? It's all about the maturity and emotional readiness, guys, seriously...

That's a fair decision. However, everybody I know who said they were going to wait, whether is was for marriage or engagement, didn't. If someone doubted them they would argue until their face is blue, but still they didn't wait. It was not because they were liers or didn't have self control, but rather because they actually wanted to.

Our sexualities are a very primal and natural part of ourselves. Once two people are in a committed relationship based on mutual love and respect, sexual desire will surface. Engagment is simply tangible proof of such a relationship.

I understand you reason for wanting to wait, but those pregnancies you hear about is an example of a seriously irresponsibly coupling. If you want to be extra safe with another man, use birth control AND a condom.

I respect your decision, but I think you should wait awhile before you make such a promise to yourself.
