I started my first pack of ortho trycyclen birth control pills on the 1st day of my period last wednesday. My periods always lasted 5 days before starting the pills. Its now the beginning of the 7th day and I'm still bleeding, pretty lightly, but still. Should I be worried, is this normal, will it end soon, what should I expect when I'm starting bc.?? etc. My doctors appt. is in 2 weeks, but I would like some advice before that. Thanks!

Just chill and don't worry about it too much. If you next period is super long, talk to your provider.

You just started the pill your body usually take 8 weeks to adjust to the birth control this is normal and should decrease within 2 weeks but it take up to 8 weeks to work I used to be on the pill but I kept forgetting to take it so I got on the shot this helps a lot but if you want a bc that you can take for now and then when you decide to get off to have children the shot is not for you it will make you infertile forever it did to me and other girls as well just let your body get used to the pills if you miss you pill for a day you can take two in one day to make up for the day you missed this helps a higher chance at preventing pregnancy if you miss a pill take two the next day so the pill can work stronger
