It provides no valuable content for the users. However, posts and topics that DO provide valuable content, even if its only value is entertainment, should not be deleted as spam. Topics of that nature should be in the proper forum section, but should not be deleted. Entertainment serves the primary focus of this website--peer support.
I propose that the following definition of spam be simply and clearly defined:
"Content, that has no value for users, posted for reasons other than providing or requesting support, and advertising." (Or something similar.)
Moderators are not psychic, but defining spam specifically as something without value might help guide them in deciding which topics are spam. Using this new definition, content that Livewirians like and find valuable should not be deleted unless it violates other guidelines, and content that is not valuable should be deleted more promptly. It is my opinion: removing content that attracts users is plainly bad for this website and removing such content should be avoided if possible.
