I think I need to point this out...

the "less powerful" Evo that they tested has 300hp. It's not like it has less power than the STI.

But thats NOT Mitsubishis fault that STi isn't up to thier levels of performance is it?

And every time i see one of those 5 lap battle videos on youtube around Tsukuba its a different story each time.

I remember one were they had an Evo vs nsx vs skyline vs rx7 and STI(its probably a competely different order but its something like that) and the evo won by miles with the NSX second yet in others the NSX wins by miles and leaves everything else.

Using Tsukuba as a source is just lol.

Actually arguing that Tsukuba isn't a viable race track to compare cars is ROFL.

And once again the STI on the show wasn't the top STI, there are rare STI's that come from the factory that are "special"

The STi coupe From the time was the top model, the only thing above was the 22B i believe but it had the same power, and was only available in extreme limited numbers.

Even so, every car in that video had 280hp and the STi was actually 100kg lighter then the GSR Tommi Makinnen eddition Evos.

You can compare cars on Tsukuba but using it as a source for fact is stupid.

Seeing as you know everything (ROFLCAKES) what track would be a comprable to compare these cars? And since you don't think this track was, then why is it they used it at all? Apperently race car drivers know nothing then eh?

I hate EVO vs STI discussions so much...

They're both amazing cars, neck-breaking fast, practical, and reliable.

Each one has its ups and downs, and in my opinion anyone saying that one is much better than the other is an idiot, because both cars are basically the same.

In some tests the EVO has proven to be faster, but in other tests the STI has proven to be faster...  what have we learned? It all comes down to the driver basically.

Heres how we can solve evo vs. sti. Look at WRC races, tell me who wins more and finishes ahead more. (you can also look at American rally races)

Ford. HAHA

Subaru hasn't won even a rally in WRC for over 2 years! so theres nothing to brag about.(Even though there is an Aussie in there team kicking ass)

and that is typical fanboy bullshit, everyone knows WRC is about the driver not the car.

Rofl, I knew you'd say its about driver not car, but without the cars there'd be nothing. Its not all about the driver.

And once again, since you know it all, what track can they goto were it would be "even". Oh wait, the 2nd segment of top gear did just that and the Subaru was FASTER

There is no "less" powerful version, the STI has 300hp, and the EVO they tracked had 300hp.
the other "more" powerful EVO was a special edition.. like the FQ360.

Exactly. The 2 tested had equal HP and were of the same production run, not a special edition bullshit.

Face it, your thread backfired.

So they test the STi agianst the 360hp version then when it comes to see whats faster they change cars, plus its not the speical edition version its the Evo MR but badged as a FQ for UK, the 6 speed Manual dual clutch Evo has 300hp.

And were is Subarus 360hp STI?, i think its only fair to have the top models from both brands at it regardless if one doesn't make one the same powerful.

360hp STI? not there.

I guess they could've tested a 450hp ESX STI  ...that would've been fair for the Evo right?
