Working at a daycamp

I recently got a full time summer job at a Montessori day camp, with children all ages under 10.

Can anyone think of any unique summer activities, preferably simple, that I can do with them?  Besides the usual sports, arts, cooking.

Have them get into groups and create their own games to share with everyone.

If I worked at a day camp, I'd play duck duck goose the entire time.

Treasure hunt, awesome idea.  Bingo may be a bit boring for them.  Chalk is good.

Lock them in a cold basement and tell them to hold a fight to the death to find the one key.

Twist: there is no key.

Clapping/hand games are like crack for little kids...

And shuffle your buns. It's a game where everyone sits in a circle and one person stands in the middle. They say "shuffle your buns if..." and then they say something that applies to them like "if you like hot sauce" or "if you have siblings" etc. Then everyone who it applies to gets up and runs to another spot in the circle. The person left standing either tells something about themself- a secret, an embarrassing story, w/e. Then the game repeats.
It's maybe a little more fun for older kids, but it can apply to younger ones too if you maybe change the secret/embarrassing story to a joke or fact about yourself.

Perhaps just little games like dodgeball (with soft/foam balls of course). Crafts such as that involving coloring cutting/pasting, etc.

Hmm.... I'll think about it.

I remember when I was young, taking thread and beads and making a necklace was fun.

If you don't mind the clean-up, sidewalk chalk is good.
