I don't like people hugging/generally showing affection to me cause it makes me feel really awkward and uncomfortable. My friends are all like that though, hugging and linking arms and stuff, and like when everyone is hugging eachother goodbye I feel really awkward and if someone comes and hugs me I just freeze up. I even feel uncomfortable like when my friends are jokily like 'I love you!' cos I just feel wierd saying it back. I guess maybe I get a bit embarrassed too.

well I'm pretty sure this is not normal.. especially since I am a girl and nearly 17.. does anyone else feel like this at all or know why I'm like this??

Yeah when my friends ask me for help with homework or just like for help in general and are like "oh my god, thank you! I love you!!" I never know what to say. I think that is normal, I know someone who use to be like that but we are really close friends now and they dont mind anymore. I think it will eventually go away.

No I'm the same, did you not get a lot of affection shown when you were younger? because my parents never hugged me so I think maybe if you're not used to it, it seems awkward and abnormal

If someone says they love you, just go, "YAY!" or ask if they're carry your babies. If it's awkward when people say it, and you don't want to say it back (due to awkwardness or whatever), just be silly. >.>

As for hugs... I don't know what to tell you. I wish everyone hugged more, they're my favorite.
