I totally beat my record today The car: 2002 Nissan Sentra 1.8 specs that influence MPG: 126hp, ~2600lbs, 4spd auto, 195/60-14 tires, didn't use A/C (it's not really hot with all the storms now), I used 87 octane from Shell. my average usually is 28mpg lately, 30mpg if I drive conservatively, and today I filled up and averaged 36mpg[/b[ for the first time. 412 miles / 11.4 gallons
So you got 8 more MPG than my car (28mpg)... 4000lbs, 5.3L, 303hp, 4spd auto, 235/50-18 tires, A/C on and using 93 octane... Somehow that just doesn't seem very impressive. I'll take my performance

In all fairness your car has got a massive torque advantage, but 28mpg is insane.

Yeah but guess what, I can beat the living crap out of my car.. autocross it, rally it, simply keep my foot down all the time and still average about 25mpg..

I don't understand why my Civic is getting less then 250 miles on a full tank of 12 gallons. I should be getting 350. =/
