mi amigo's computer is utterly infected with the stuff.  tons of pop ups and infected files.  trojans downloading trojans downloading trojans.  it's pretty much a lost cause.  i might be able to go through and individually remove them but i have neither the time nor the patience so i'll probably just bring a Windoze disk over and re-install.

let this be a listen to you:  install Windows updates when they come out, download a realtime virus scanner (like Avast!), download Adaware and check for bad files regularly, download a firewall like Comodo, and download Spybot to immunize your system.

it's a hassle (for most people anyways. i  actually thoroughly enjoy keeping a pristine computer) but it'll be worth it in the end.

Why not try just going in through Safe Mode? That way you havn't got 50 billion other programs all running in the background INCLUDING the virus programs, the virus scan will be much quicker and that way you can safely and properly delete them.

I actually did go through safe mode and a couple of them were still running.  D:
