Will It work if I just copy all the files to a folder then put them on a DVD?

If you wish to copy a commercial DVD such as those purchased at a DVD store, that will not work. Those files are encrypted and protected. That is also technically illegal, or in the grey area of the law. LiveWire guidelines prevent me from disclosing how to do that, but it can be done for free.

If this is just a home made DVD you can copy and paste the files into a new DVD, as long as those .VOB files are inside a directory called "VIDEO_TS" (without the speech marks). This allows the DVD player to recognise it as a playable DVD. A program like Nero will burn the VOB files into the correct file structure for you as long as you select the DVD Video burn mode.
