First off, know that I'm not getting on your case due to being closed minded, because I'm not. From 16 on until more recently, I nearly exclusively dated men from 25-40, usually men in their mid 30s. I used to be very adamant about the whole "age is just a number" thing. The fact of the matter is, even if you are mature for your age, older men are still going to be going after you for the wrong reasons more often than not. And I don't mean it's all about sex, because I've found that isn't typically true. Even if he seems absolutely lovely, be wary, because certain older men like to go for teenage girls in hopes of a girl he can mold into the woman he wants, and that isn't the type of woman you want to be. He may be a complete prince and one of those rare older men who can love someone so much younger for all the right reasons, and if that's the case, congratulations. But please don't allow yourself to be manipulated. And just so you know, I'm not trying to bring down the topic. Just a little concerned. The boy is lovely, btw.
