Everything we do is is solely done to get ahead of other people.  People in general lack the ability to have empathy and as a result, tear each other to shreds in order to advance themselves.  And then at the end of their pathetic lives, they look back and are happy with themselves for getting that promotion or becoming so wealthy and taking fab vacations or for becoming the elite of the elite.  They forget all the people they leave destroyed, all the people they betray, all the ravages of their pathetic mission to be the best.

Even people who spend their time offering others "support" are usually so full of it that they can't even see their own hypocrisy.  It's not support.  They don't give a shit either way if the person they help walks out and hangs themself from the ceiling fan, deep down.  They walk away thinking that they made the world a better place, when really all they did was give one more person a false belief that just one person cares about them.  And all that means is that it's going to be that much harder when that person finds out that they really ARE alone.

I want to leave all of this.  I want to drop out of school and quit my job.  I want to take all the money I have out of my bank account and leave.  I want to get away from people forever.  I want to go live in the fucking middle of nowhere and never talk to anyone again.  And I'm not just wishing for it.  I'm considering it.  I'm 19.  No one would stop me.

I want to leave betrayal, addiction and failure behind.  I want to reset my life and restart it again without the people that fucked it up in the first place.

And if you read a single paragraph of this, thanks I guess.

My parents (especially my dad) taught me specific things in life that as a child seemed silly, but now as an adult I understand them. For example, if I'm entering or exiting a building and there is someone behind me, I'll either hold the door for them or hold it open for them. It's a little gesture but I'd rather do that then slam the door on their face. Most of the time I don't get a response from the person that I'm doing this for; no "thank you" or nothing. I know it may seem like a trivial thing but if I'm taking the time to not slam the door in your face (like most people do), can't you take a second to say "thanks" or just give me a simple smile?

People want to tailgate you because they're in a hurry, or they want to cut in line because they don't want to wait. They don't realise the effect that they're having on other people and it sucks. Technology has ruined society and it will continue to do so. There are a lot of times that I wish I could just up and leave, live in some desolate area where I don't have to deal with people and hopefully someday, that day will come.

Me!" society and it can pretty much go fuck itself. Nobody cares about anyone else anymore, nobody wants to truly help people any more. I know. I understand what you said about all the littel things.  It's like people don't even give the slightest consideration that there are other people on this planet that have feelings too.   Everything is about them.

I don't understand how people can be so cold and detached from each other.  The other day I was at the bakery getting a bagel before work.  This older lady behind the counter handed me my food and I just gave her a simple thank you and a smile.  She looked at me like it was the nicest thing someone had ever done to her.  She went, "It's so nice to hear that some people still have manners.  I never ever get a thank you."  People make me sick.

I remember walking through the halls of my high school and getting straight up slammed into and the person who did it would just keep walking as if I didn't even exist.  It happened WEEKLY.  I don't know if we've always been so detached from each other and I just havent noticed, or if this has been a trend thats been picking up in the last 5 years.  Whatever it is, I hate it.

The human race is being rapidly drained of empathy.
