You get a taper, and shove it in using lube.

Get any water based lube, besides vaseline..You go, 18>16>14>12>10>8>6>4>2>0>00>7/16>5/8>3/4>1in and so on.

If you're scared of pain, simply don't do it, it doesn't hurt, but it stings, you can't be a pussy if you're going to do it, because you can't stop in the middle and go owowowowwow, you have to fucking push.

And make sure you want to do it, if you're really preppy, you're probally going to get called a poser.

no lube, just shoved it through there and then, it tears your skin so it kinda hurts.
but go up to 3mm
4mm
5mm  
etc.

If it tears, that's bad. Very bad. If you decide you don't want it anymore, it just won't heal back down at all.

Granted, your piercing will NEVER go back down to the original piercing size past a certain point, but it can shrink some.
