My gran has cancer. She is able to live alone and take care of hersealf but my parents and I are still always around for those "off" days. I had started slipping little bits of money, cuz shes loaded. But earlier today there was lots of 20's drying becasue they had gone throught the wash. I took a few, but then she noticed some missing beacuse since she won it all at a recent casino trip she knew how much and had counted. I "found" it in the chair cushion, very believable because she does have cancer and misplaces and forgets a lot. But now I have my mom thinking its getting worse, and everyone confused. Im not a suspect I just feel guilty. I did the right think by returning it even though I shouldnt have taken it. Any, of it., from the past months, I feel so guilty. Its not like I actually need it, I'm spoiled rotten. Comments? Therepay. I feel so gayyy..

simple guilt eventually goes away. I've done worse to family members. As long as you learned from it then thats all that really matters.

If you don't get caught, the only thing left to deal with is your guilt. Personally... I find guilt much harder to live with than just telling the truth, apologizing, and fixing it up. The choice is yours, but there's no way to take away your guilt, and there's no way to advise you into making it go away. You shoudln't have stolen, and at least you realize that. Whether or not you want to admit to this, and give all the money back is up to you. Or otherwise, you can just slip all the money back from where you got it, and help clear your own conscious. It won't get rid of what you did, nor is giving back something stolen something that takes away what you did... but it may help you cope with your own feelings.
