Atheist! Frankly, I would have voted agnostic before I read the topic (and the more I read about weak agnosticism, might revert to that position before I'm done), but the mark of wisdom in my opinion is the ability to learn. If Bob doesn't have a belief in God, he would necessarily be an atheist.
It would appear that the ability to learn is a rare trait; even after I explained the correct answer and linked to it in the OP the percentage of incorrect answers continues to rise.

Atheist: One who disbelieves or denies the existence of God or gods Agnostic: One who is skeptical about the existence of God BUT DOES NOT PROFESS TRUE ATHEISM. Bob neither believes nor denies the existence of god. Therefore he is agnostic. He is agnostic, and therefore not atheist. Have you considered that maybe, just maybe, the majority is right this one time?
The OP contains a link to one of my posts in this thread which explains why you are incorrect (though if LW allowed it I would probably have just quoted PoP's explanation and left it at that). I would recommend using said link.

Maybe I should also add here that, in a broader sense, Bob is whatever Bob wants to be. There are people who don't pray, go to church, or live by any christian morals, but call themselves christian anyway. If Bob calls himself an agnostic, then even by your scrutinous (and flawed) standards, he is an agnostic.

The problem wilder, is that you didn't define atheism properly. There is hard atheism and soft atheism. Agnosticism is generally associated with soft atheism, where hard is a solid rejection in a belief in a higher power. Since Bob doesn't know but has not stated a rejection of a belief in a higher power, he must be an agnostic.
I didn't define the terms because the actual definitions stand. Agnosticism relates to whether or not knowledge of gods can be had, not weak atheism. One can be a weak atheist and not an agnostic, for exmple, by saying "I'm unsure, but I do think that it's possible to know." We know that Bob doesn't believe in god, and is thus a weak atheist. We do not know whether or not Bob believes knowledge of gods existence is possible either way, and thus we cannot say whether or not he is agnostic. Quote: from BlueCloud at 5:06 am on July 15, 2008

That would be right if those were actually the definitions of those words.
Those ARE the definitions. Google it then click on "definition". Don't assume you're right when you haven't even checked.
Take your own advice. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agnosticism
Agnosticism (Greek: α- a-, without + γνώσις gnōsis, knowledge; after Gnosticism) is the philosophical view that the truth value of certain claims — particularly metaphysical claims regarding theology, afterlife or the existence of God, gods, deities, or even ultimate reality — is unknown or, depending on the form of agnosticism, inherently unknowable.
Agnosticism, in the theistic sense, signifies the belief that one cannot know for sure whether or not there is a god. All agnostics are etheir theists or atheists.

Agnosticism, in the theistic sense, signifies the belief that one cannot know for sure whether or not there is a god. All agnostics are etheir theists or atheists.
In your first post you said, "Bob doesn't know if there is a God or not". That may or may not mean that he believes one can't know for sure if there is a god. Which means that either he is an agnostic, or he doesn't know if he's an agnostic, which by default would make him an agnostic in the slightly more obscure definition. Try making a bit of sense; everything you said before your closing statement doesn't prove that agnostics are either atheists or theists. When looked at from a theological point of view, agnostics are put under a seperate category from theists and atheists for a reason. But at page 5 of this useless topic you are still no closer to proving that "all LW members are ignorant fucks" - all you've proven is that if you make a statement that people don't agree with, then they will argue against it. Sometimes with stupid answers, and sometimes with a logical perspective. Just because other people think differently from you doesn't make them ignorant. It makes you ignorant. And with that, I leave this pointless argument, because we could continue this quibble forever and never get anywhere. Have a nice day.
