Why should I play?
YOU should play because you want to have some fun and win some points. All you have to do is make a team, then find different things on LiveWire and show me that you found them. EZ 2 join; EZ 2 PLAY.
Basic Instructions
Now:
1. Find other members who will join you to create a team of 3 people. NO MORE, NO LESS!
2. Sign up by stating your team name and a list of team members in a post here or in a private message. I will message each team member to certify their participation and add the teams to this topic in the post below.
3. The game has begun. TEAMS MAY STILL JOIN.
4. The hunt list (click here) will be revealed in sections--in the post below and at UNSPECIFIED times. Your goal is to find as many items as you can and cash in on them.
5. The game will be OVER when: a) all items have been crossed off the list, b) three teams have submitted, via PM, all items that have not been crossed off (after entire list is revealed), or c) the entire list has been revealed for 3 days. Earning Points: You have two options with anything you find...READ CAREFULLY!
By posting:
When you find an item or items, you may make a new post the link(s) in this topic and specify which number on the hunt list that it/they fulfill. This option gives you credits toward the jackpot that is awarded at the end of the game, and crosses the item(s) off the list (preventing all other teams from cashing in afterward on the item, section, or section/list that contains the item, both through private messages and posts). This option also earns you immediate points, although less than you can earn with the other option. Single item-10 points and 1 jackpot credit each; Entire section at once-200 points and 20 jackpot credits each; Complete list at once-automatic victory-4,000 points
By PMing:
When you find an item or items, you may PM me the link(s) and specify which number on the hunt list that it/they fulfill. This option does not give you jackpot credit, and does not cross anything off the list nor otherwise affect other teams' ability to cash in on the item (all teams may get points by sending a PM if no team has posted a valid link for that number). This option earns you immediate points--more than you can earn with the other option. Single item-30 points each; Entire section at once-400 points each; Complete list at once-2,000 points
You are NOT allowed to use both methods on any item.
The Jackpot:
At the end of the game (see Instructions #5), the team with the most jackpot credits will automatically win the jackpot of 2,000 points. If no team has jackpot credits, the team that first found all items will win the jackpot. This bonus will be rewarded in addition to all points previously earned, unless the winning team won an automatic victory by posting a complete and valid list.
Each team member will earn the amount of points given above, for any item, section, list, or jackpot; NOTHING will be divided up. Miscellaneous Info
Tip: get your links right! You'll be more successful if you check over your submission(s) before submitting than if you have to resubmit because you messed up.
If you have any questions about rules or items on the list, ASK! I will answer you via the same method, and clarify officially in the post below if necessary.
This is essentially a contest, but for a few reasons it will not be run via the official page of LiveWire Contests. If you are itching to donate points, you may donate points to me, as all rewards in this contest come directly from my pocket.
Any submission(s) may be declared invalid and any team(s) or member(s) may be denied from playing to ensure fairness. Do not use alternate accounts, upload images, nor make posts for this contest, nor participate in any other suspicious behavior, because I will NOT give you the benefit of the doubt. I apologize if anybody gets shortchanged as a result of this attitude.
I am aware that, besides the fact that the contestants are involved in the website, thousands of other members come here every day and are also involved in the website. Thus, LiveWire is constantly changing in ways that may affect this contest. If a link fulfills the description for an item when you find it, but does not fulfill the description when you submit it and I look at it, you will NOT be credited for it. I apologize if you don't like this rule.
At any time, under my discretion, I may change the rules so that, for each item, only the first (#) teams to submit a valid link get points. This is not because I am a point whore or a troll, but because participation in this contest may be much higher than I imagined and I may notice that I am giving away points at a rate that I will be unable to cover for the rest of the game. Please understand the need to have this clause if it seems slightly unfair or dishonest.

You do NOT receive any additional points for completing a section by submitting individual links at different times or for completing the entire list by submitting individual links or sections at different times. The point/jackpot credit rewards for items, sections, and complete list are given separately because you have a CHOICE concerning how many links to submit at once. Examples (click here).
After a single item has been crossed off the list, no team may get credit for submitting the entire section (that contains the crossed-off item) or entire list at once. Any team that does so will only get credit for the remaining individual items in the section or complete list.
You may submit links for any item at any time after the section that contains the item is revealed. You may submit links even after a different section is revealed.
You must check back here for new sections on YOUR OWN accord. They will not necessarily be announced in any way.
If you edit a post, there's a good chance I will consider the edit time as the time of submission, instead of the post time.
