I am going to be a doctor after premed-med school, and it will be very expensive.  If I go into the army as a doctor for a few years after, they will pay for my med school and I will get benefits for the rest of my life.  It would also prepare me for emergencies after I leave the army.  Whats your opinion?

im sorry to say that i cannot make the decision for yu. At the end of the day, you have to llok at the disadvantages and advatages and decide whether you want to join or not. If you want to join, then you should, because that is all that matters and if you do not want to, then dont. The advantages as you listed are that it will help you pay for school, you will get benefits for life, and it will prepare you for emergencies. The disadvantage is that you could be sent to war, and that can be quite a traumatic experience. You could die or see Friends die, and you could be forced to kill. Furthermore, it will make you take more time to complete your medical training. Given those advatages and disadvantages, you have to ask yourself, would you want to join the army and do you like it? If you feel you like it and you want to, then as said before, you should, otherwise do not. i hope that helps and that things work out for yuo either way you choose.

It has its pro's and cons. It is certainly a way to help pay medical expenses, but given the current state of american conflict over seas, you are most certainly going out there, which is scary.
