ok so i have this friend i went to her house and had fun a few weeks ago. then my mom, being the lovely lady she is, goes she looks poor and her house smells like cat pee. now knowing my mom thought this and considering that is my only parent her opinion meant a lot to me, and i dont know its like since she said that i dont like my friend anymore like i get this terrible feeling whenever i have to hang out with her like when i invited her to the pool to reciprocate, but ya i dont think i want to be her friend anymore like i mean ill hang with her at school and be nice to her but i really dont want to chill outside of school anymore. Oh. and if this helps im a 16 year old girl. so my question is am i a terrible person?

Yes.
So what, she's got a less than shabby place, don't alienate her because you feel like you're to good for her. A home doesn't make a person, and if she were smart, she'd up a drop your ass for being so shallow.
