Yeah but you need to know a scripting language as well to make it function.

You don't need scripting knowledge just to create the layout.

Are you talking about Dreamweaver and the like?  Or pre-built forums like PhpBB?

A WYSIWYG editor is for creating HTML pages.

EDIT: It is ussually used for creating HTML pages but it can be used to create other forms of pages or even non-web applications.

Forums, guestbooks, contact forms etc etc are not in HTML they are ussually in another language, ussually PHP or CGI. WYSIWYG cannot possibly create every single thing there is on the web nor can it code every single language.

All of those mentioned above are avaliable pre-built online. I.E you can search for "PHP Forum" on google for a pre-built forum which you just have to install.

Let me correct this. CGI is not a programming language, it's an interface for languages. Dynamic content's usually created with PHP, Perl or Python. That is, on a *NIX OS. On Windows you've the additional options of asp and jsp. It's also possible to do it with C++, VB, C# etc... with the right kind of interpreter. The options are massive. WYSIWYG is pretty much the only way you can't do it.

Let me reassert my correction, for I got that information from the realm of facts.

CGI stands for Common Gateway Interface. I don't believe you've coded in it, because such a language does not exist for you to use. Amateur.
