God told us to obey the laws of the land, thus why drug use IS a sin.

The reason WHY it's okay for us to take prescription medication and coffee and alcohol and anything else that may be considered a drug but is NOT illegal is because God says we can indeed have these things, but in moderation.

Overindulgence is a sin and falls under the Greed category, which is also a sin. And even though were allowed to have these things - if we overindulge and become GREEDY with them, then that's when they become of sinful nature. But let's just put the whole 'sin' issue aside for a second and look at it from a different point of view. If were greedy with these things and abuse them - there's a great possibility of us become addicted to them.

Because God says that HE (and only HE) should be our main focus in our lives, when we become addicted to something - that something takes over our lives, thus putting God second and our addiction first. Thus why were allowed to have these things, but not overindulge in them, as overindulgence leads to addiction.

Now as far as illegal drugs are concerned (especially weed, since many think it's okay to smoke for spiritual purposes) I've just remembered this from reading a few passages a while back. One of the things God tells us to do is obey the laws of the land. This definitely applied back in the biblical days, as it does now.

And after finally realizing that doing ANYTHING illegal is pretty much a sin (and wrong in the first place), I've come to the conclusion that doing any type of drug that is illegal is, indeed, a sin, and therefore weed is not associated with Christianity whatsoever (which many people think otherwise because weed "may be connected" to spirituality in a way.) In other religions, maybe. But not Christianity.

Discuss if you must.

I don't believe in God. Sin isn't even a word to me. I'll have all the illegal drugs I want and overindulge in other naughty behaviors too. Oh oh. Look at me.

No, breathing is not a sin. As fas as thinking about sinning - well, yes, that's correct depending on the circumstances. If you're consciously thinking sexually immoral thoughts, then that is a sin. If something pops up in your head subconsciously and, after realizing that thought is there, you try and get rid of it and focus on something else, that's fine.

That is the dumbest shit i've ever heard. Especially since sex is MAIN biological function number 2. Second to survival.

I don't care who I set off, quite frankly. If they don't like it, they don't have to read it. And nobody can 'jump' me (especially on LW.)

God can fuck off (that is presuming (s)he exists). He can't dictate what I will or won't do, nor what I believe is moral or ethically correct. I will smoke weed and whatever I want, because it's not bad and it relaxes me.

Sex, and sexually immoral thoughts are two different things. And sex is only considered NOT a sin when you're married. I guess if you're thinking sexy thoughts about your husband or wife it's fine, I couldn't see it any other way. But if that's not the case, it is indeed a sin.

Intelligent religious arguments are great.

Stupid people who think by posting this shit means someone will care, are just annoying.
