I like all the changes, primarily the SL moderating and the support forum.  90% of the posts are about socialization and rarely anymore is there any kind of support post taken seriously.  If someone is actually needing support and they are basically laughed at or made fun of in the support forum, then the post can easily be removed.  If someone is actually dedicated to supporting members, then obviously they will be helping around the support forum, not the teen or college forum.

#1 wouldn't really help much. They're just zones, in which everyone asks for advice/support.

#2 would mean I'd probably be demoted =P

and no one would really like #3. A 'spam' forum? wtf.

#1 Thats correct, but it'd be a hell of a lot easier to find support.

#2 A large number of unhelpful SL's would be demoted, thats the idea.

#3 No one would, but it would stop a lot of the crap coming through here.

Just a point before I analyse this fully tomorrow: Not getting a point for posting in DTRM will deter no semi-serious spammer. Often times they may not care about the points at all, but will do it for fun and seeing other people suffer and annoying them. So I think while it may seem helpful, it will ultimately not do much, and users can easily just spam any of the other forums.

I like the idea specifically about the SLs being put under Mods. Though a little more work for Mods, it may be more beneficial to the members as (hopefully) there would be better SLs after such a time period.

The only loophole is that it is possible for a SL to be damn good for that time period and then just slack afterwards. Would it be possible if the SLs could be on constant Mod watch? Or if there was another way to moderate their actions on a periodic basis. Maybe they are watched a random 60 days every year or something? Who knows. Just an idea.

I still think we should just be able to select the forums we want fresh topics from

You can.

i don't mean between teen college and tech
i mean you should be able to select "subforums" if you really want to call them that, as well as having a tab system so you can switch between different types of fresh topics

It wouldn't stop everyone, but it would stop some, and some is better then none being stopped. And mods and SL's can simply move/delete the topics in the wrong place.

I agree with all of those... except the no points in the deep thoughts and random musings thing.

I agree with all of your suggestions.

I'm not sure how popular the third one would be, though.

Change #2:
Support is possible through PMs. It would appear that I don't help anyone ever, but I generally just help out through PM.

Change #3a:
There are problems that just don't really go anywhere but DTRM.

The idea would be that everything they do is monitored in a novice page style, every 60-90 days they would be under review. The mods don't do enough now as it is.

I do as well, I would prefer that, but it's been brushed away before.

that's totally fucking retarded
it would be the quickest way of ignoring topics you don't want to see and it wouldn't require a massive fucking overhaul of the entire forum

Well i think the idea here is to imply that if you're not going to take the SL position seriously, then do not apply. Keeping them under close watch is probably what's best. This will rule out all the SL's that don't really give a flying fuck about support.

#1 I still don't see the necessity.
#2 I get it. I just don't care for it. Some SL's hardly have time to respond to many eHelps. Not everyone's life revolves around LiveWire. They offer advice when they can.
#3 Not earning points wouldn't stop spammers. Making a spam forum wouldn't either. I don't see how all the crap coming through here would stop.
