China's economy is growing at a fast rate compared to Mexico and is also a lot larger than Mexico's. China has a large military with a strong manpower base and a massive population. China is expected to overtake the US as the worlds leading economy in the future and become the next superpower.  
Other countries wish to be friendly with China so they can benefit, therefor it gains influence.

I understand the economic rise of China.  But China is an international joke for military power, and superpower status.  They don't have the greatest navy, their air power is weak; all they have is manpower, which alone; will not win a conflict.  I hate how everyone's looking at China nowadays as a military power. <.<

Doesn't the US already trade quite a bit with China already? Along with many other countries?
