I'm on my second year in college now and for my first two years I've just been going for an associates in the arts, an AA Degree.  I figured that this was the best because I have no idea what I want my major to be and everyone said that this was a good way to get started, especially if you want to transfer to a different school after two years.  Does this seem like a good thing to be doing or should I be taking a different route?

be careful about where you transfer, some colleges dont encourage you to start with an AA and you may have to play catch up.

I feel like if you stop at an AA, people would look at that as a cop-out degree.

Have you considered trying for a bachelors?

I'm not stopping at an AA though, I'll be going on to get a bachelors after this...and I'll be transferring to the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF)

It's a good start but it would be better if you had a route because you might end up playn catch up for a route when you pick one.

Heehee trust me I know, but I don't know what I want to do, and thats my problem.  I'm just trying to find the path that will allow me to play the least ammount of catch up as possible.

If you know what university you want to go to make sure that every unit will transfer to that university, or you might have to go to summer school or inter session to make up units.  Or go the 5 year plan.

There's nothing wrong with that. It's a good plan, actually. I'll get my AA degree at the end of this school year, then transfer to get my Bachelor's, and probably a Master's after that. It's an excellent start.

You always have to make sure that as many units as possible will transfer to a university, or you'll be taking that class again.
