I have been using a 2MB internet package from virgin media. My max download was 256kbs, we had to upgrade because i was unable to play in full servers on PS3 online games.

so today we phoned them, and asked them to update it. They did it right away, and i tested my speed. it was an 1.2 MB download speed. After playing on the PS3 i started lagging, I've restarted the router but my upload speed is very little and my download speed has gone back to 256kb/s!

What should we do?...

We had like problems here with Earthlink.

We ended up switching to a different ISP because we got tired of over a month of BS like that.  Switched over to a 6mb cable line (comcast sadly).
