So I've been dating this girl for 2 weeks now. We've just been kinda chilling. Going to the movies. Hanging around on grassy field. The typical date things. We're both heading to the same college in the fall. Last night, she started talking about "us" and said she doesn't want to be in a committed relationship just yet (although left the possibility open in the future). At the same time, she also said she really likes me and wants to keep dating. She just doesn't want to make it "official." Does anybody have any advice for me since I'm a bit confused?

it's my professional opinion that all these terms like "official" "exclusive" and "boyfriend/girlfriend" are societal labels which have no real bearing and only work perfectly for the illusive/non-existent "average person"

so my advice is just go with the flow. it works best.

She's keeping her options open. College is a huge change, and you'll both be meeting a lot of people. She's probably protecting herself from a lot of potential confusion if she meets another guy on campus who she really likes while she's still seeing you.

Could happen to you, too. So see this as a good thing.
