Its name is: AshServ.exe It's currently on 22,664 k

I tried to end process but all it comes up with is: The operation could not be completed
Access denied...

Does anybody have any IDEAS how to get rid of it?

It's an executable file. You can uninstall it/remove it yourself.

Have you gone into your start menu under programs? All of the things I've managed to pick up like that have been listed in there, where I can uninstall them easily.

Safe mode, and then run virus scan or even manually delete if you can locate it (file search including hidden files/folders).

ashserv.exe is part of the Avast Anti-virus Suite. This process is the main executable for this piece of software, and is important for the stable and secure running of your computer and should not be terminated.
