Try the AVG free version. I've been using it for the last year or so, and I liked it enough to buy a one-year subscription. It's fairly cheap too, but I don't remember exactly how much I paid.

I've been using McAfee on my desktop for a few years and I've loved it. Never had a problem with it. I just don't know how it got on there. I think the military was giving it out for service memebers and my dad got it...

Windows defender isn't an anti virus program, it's an anti-spyware program which can help prevent and removes spyware _______________________________________
well the one i would suggest you hate  so not that one lol :) Well at this moment i have AVG installed and it seems good except that it did not find this virus, and i had to scan the file with avast to get rid of it. I have also noticed that AVG when scanning.. there is no quick scan which is annoying, and on normal scan it like lags my computer so i have to put it on slow scan which uses less resources.. ( i have a pentium D processor.. it's the one before duocore was like made.. its two chips stuck together or something.. ) so if you have duo core that shouldn't really matter.. I also like that AVG has toolbar which has a link scanner which if you search on google it will tell you if the site is safe or not! Post edited at 9:51 am on Aug. 30, 2008 by Dannay
