Relationships are all about being with a person long enough to see what makes them really tick. When guys become too confident, too cocky, too sure of themselves and get love and ownership confused it is time to assess the relationship. A relationship should be 50/50 and with they start the control crap its time to knock them down a few notches. ALso, girls are the ones that permit them to become nasty monsters. Yank their chain pretty often and keep them guessing and you will be more respected.
