Also, having read a few more of your posts, it is apparent that you are making pretty serious accusations here. I strongly advise that you talk to David, if anything of what you're saying is true. If you feel unsatisfied with his input, I would suggest addressing the issue with a more impartial moderator, who would be able to review the situation themself and then relay the information to david.

as for what unusualone said about the whole "off LW" thing - that is true, to an extent. However I very much doubt that the exchange of explicit images from a LW moderator would ever be tolerated, regardless of the medium.

On the more down-to-earth note about your moderator review process, that simply isn't feasible. The sheer volume of actions taken by a moderator in a month, let alone a year, is hardly reviewable. I think it is also important to address the point that moderation is a VOLUNTARY task, taken out of the member's own free time. We are not paid, and we are not employed. Unless someone is acting extremely out of line (and in such cases, moderators are almost always caught out), it is nothing short of ungrateful (and downright rude, might i add) to impose such rigorous, insulting measures on someone who is going out of their way to do a huge favour to this site.

I am simply asking, why is there no system, at least some system, of review? YES, there is a HUGE amount of work, I am aware, but if you realy wanted it, and logically thought about it, you could put together some type of moderation review system, other than the OB. There has never been a review, and some mods have been mods for years. If they are so good, why care so much if there is a review? Not that there will be, but still, it would be nice if ye gave some power to the members, and allow a review, or some type of more detailed allowance for the OB. Even that could satisfy, giving the members on the OB, greater access to mod actions etc

It's a pile of work to set up a system to enable people to review and act based on those reviews, not even bothering to consider the additional effort that would go into selecting reviews and then dealing with whatever kind of whiny pseudo-political bitching that would erupt based on any decision anyone ever makes on LiveWire.

Then those that were chosen are expected to do a shitload of work and make judgment calls after the fact on all of the countless decisions that a moderator has made.

While the idea, in theory, might be a good one, once it approaches reality and we have to face the details of implementation, it is just a whole lot of effort to go through for what it is meant to accomplish on LiveWire, of all places.

and by the way, moderating isnt fucking rocket science. it doesnt take a genius to have an 'idea' about it.

you also neglect the fact that many arent doing a service, theyre just insecure pricks who do it to get power on a teen site. hardly the way you portrayed it, as if theyre selfless, nice people taking time out of their lives to do a service. fucking funny.

Yes Shady, that is a little over the top. The majority, as I have stated are fine. Just some are poor. Though this does not take from the fact that a FULL review should be conducted
