To me, it seems as if people will believe ANYTHING if it will lead them to Heaven.  I believe that we should not follow something just because we are afraid of it, we should actually use our heads.  How much sense does it make that it's a sin for you to think lustful thoughts when you HAVE to or you'll have no desire to reproduce.  I once talked to a group of hardcore Christians on a chat and some of them told me that no matter how good a person you are, if you don't accept Jesus as your savior then you are going to hell.  I really doubt that God is cruel enough to sentance a really kind and good person to eternal damnation (Who really deserves eternal damnation anyway).

I suspect your mistake was thinking that "hard core Christians" represent all Christians and all religion.People ahve been developing various religions as long as there ahs been society. Religion isn't truth about all the cosmic questions people ask about their existance and the meaning of life and each other, etc. It's an organsized attempt to answer and interpret those questions. The questioning is normal. The answers? Depends on individual's philosophies, educationa dn experiences in life.

How is it possible to 'believe' in evolution? Belief requires faith, and evolution simply holds too much evidence to require faith.
