5. The Night of the Sunflowers
6. The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou
7. Dark City
8. Spirited Away

10. Prophecy Trilogy

I've only see two of those, 6 and 8, and I couldn't stand The Life Aquatic.

As for the listing, Val, I could never come up with ten of my favorite movies spanning genres.  It would just be impossible.  I can give you some top ten lists for different categories of films though.

Top Ten Classic Films

1. You Can't Take it With You
2. They Drive By Night
3. Psycho
4. The Maltese Falcon
5. Casablanca
6. Citizen Kane
7. On The Waterfront
8. A Farewell to Arms
9. A Bridge on the River Kwai
10. Lawrence of Arabia

Top Five Musicals

1. Yankee Doodle Dandy
2. My Fair Lady
3. The Sound of Music
4. Cabaret
5. Holiday Inn

Top Ten Asian Films

1. Audition
2. The Isle
3. Yo-Yo Girl Cop
4. Raise the Red Lanturn
5. Pom Poko
6. The Legend of Suriyothai
7. Tae Guk Gi
8. Time
9. Once Upon a Time in China II
10. Memento Mori

Top Five Independent Films

1. The Kingfisher
2. The Tracey Fragments
3. The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys
4. Pumpkin
5. The United States of Leeland

Anyway, you get the point.  I average 20-25 movies every month.  I could never pick just ten for overall quality.

Well you don't have menstruation so the best time to watch the Life Aquatic doesn't really happen for you...
