saddam kept the iraqi and kept the groups  from fighting and there was "peace". Now iraquis are fighting each other not just the USA or forieghers.
that is what I meant. Iraqui is not a peaceful or undercontrol area. still a warzone and dangerous.

I agree. But bringing the US Army into it doesn't clear up the picture at all. I think that the point is that people claiming to be Muslims are not helping the image of Islam in the minds of the rest of the world by being so violent. That should be the point you address, not flippant remarks that have nothing to do with the subject of the thread.

Take the remark for whatever you want.  "Flippant", if that's how you feel.  I have the utmost respect for the US army.
It was meant to get across the point that Muslims aren't the only ones bombing people today.  There is a whole lot of violence on all ends of the globe from all sorts of people...and blaming muslims for it is just as ridiculous as blaming the army for it, as well as blaming Christians, as well as blaming any other specific group.

Overall, yes. Well, as good as any religion can be. It's the Muslims who bomb people that I have problems with, but I'm intelligent enough to realise that that's an extremely small minority of fanatics and extremists who in no way represent the entire faith.

First of all, amanitta, the reason people tend to hate on you has nothing to do with your religion and everything to do with you being unquestioningly and unchangingly ignorant.

Secondly, Islam the religion is neither good nor bad. It is an idea and it is neutral. It is in the hands of people that it is used for good or for evil, as is the case with every religion.

Bad poll options. I think Islam is wrong and a negative influence on people (I feel the same way about many strains of Christianity), but I don't think Muslims on whole are suicidal, bad, or idiotic.

Do you believe in this specific instance that Islam is neutral, or do you believe that an idea, a belief system CANNOT be anything but neutral?

There aren't beliefs that are bad even when unpracticed/interpreted differently?
