it's around 5-6months; when the foetus is at least recognisable as a baby...! Sometimes earlier, sometimes later...all depends on the baby and it's "personality"...research suggests that the baby will kick when something is keeping it from resting i.e. loud music, talking etc...and some say they just do it in recognition of their mothers' voice.
