1. Is there any way i can reduce the file size to the tiny size neede for the avatar?

2. How can i get a picture of myself which is a small enough file size because i know some people have one?

If you donate to livewire, then you can get yourself a bigger avatar.

If you don't want to do that, though, the best you can do is to resize your image to 32x32 pixels (google pixresizer: I use it for all my avatars and it's great) and see if it's still clear. If it isn't clear and it isn't something that lots of members would like to use, then we won't accept it.

You haven't donated to livewire. That means the only avatars you can use are 32x32 pixels (that's pretty tiny) and available to all members. That means you can't have pictures of yourself of anything becausenot everyone would want to use that.

Random question... After your donated status thingy runs out, do you get to keep your old privileges, or do you have to keep donating to keep your big avvies?

The only thing that runs out is sustainer staus, which goes after 60 days. As a sustainer, you get the same size avatar but a larger file size, the topic tracker (which lets you know who's viewing which topic), the option for private browsing and a shiny badge. Once it's run out, you get to be a patron, which allows you to adblock and to have a nice big avatar (128x128 pixels). Patron status never goes away unless you transfer off your donations. Same with ad-free.

However, I personally am addicted to the topic viewing tracker and love private browsing (as a mod, we can have it even if we don't donate, but we have to turn it on every time we log in and I'm too lazy), so I have to keep donating :(
