Your decision to not make it any of his business is the best choice in my opinion. If he asks you I would still tell him that you respect his privacy and you expect him to respect yours.
The key is not to flaunt your sexuality in front of him and not to try to sell him on your lifestyle.
Allow it to be his problem, not yours.
