In 4th grade, there was a stupid thing we had to touch upon that the teacher would not explain again. It was... How to tell if an analog clock was AM or PM without the digital screen on it to tell you.

Can someone tell me/explain to me how this was even possible? I made almost straight zeros on the homework given. I've never heard of the subject again, but it may come up in the later years...

Explain. That's not good enough. Most common analog clocks I see only have an hour hand, a minute hand, and a second hand.

There's no way of telling, unless it's got a different hand on it, but I've only ever seen clocks like that in expensive clock shops.
