Did Jesus. Maybe
any other diety. i have no clue
But what I do belive is taht religion gave us morals that have shaped our modern laws and rights/freedoms. Like it or not religion is a good thing because it helps us shape our moral compass. Im kind of a catholic and there is no way I believe everything in the bible but the message is what counts and its one hell of a good message and anyone that is a half decent person would realize that.

Morals are subjective, what one religion may think is a good way to live could be considered horribly wrong to another.

not that great of a message for, people to be baptized as little kids without knowing it. Not that great of a message when priests play hide and seek with little kids, and when the pope, may he rest in peace soon, thinks he's God himself. Not that great of a message when the priest takes the money from the people and tries to teach honesty.

where do you think those morals came from though. Everyone in the western world used to be religious pretty much and those morals got passed down.

Yes, because in the Eastern world everyone devoted their time to raping babies.

Every social animal has morals. Dogs have morals, (other) apes have morals, dolphins have morals. Of course they're not as eloquently expressed as ours, but they're there. If we spent our time murdering each other indiscriminately our species would have died out long ago.
