yeah, i be your freind. i know what you mean bout ppl expecting you to be one way just cuz others like you are... tho for me its that im a permiscuas nympho basterd that can't chosse (between boys and girls) and stay with the same person for more than a night... and that suks cuz its not true.

I know one person who definitely has CP (she doesn't need a chair or a walker) and I quite possibly know more with it (the place I work at has a policy of not telling us which disability a person has).

I doubt people with CP are the only ones that find they are treated differently. Unfortunately many people do still treat people with impairments differently (as in an unwanted difference).  Some people can't see beyond a person's impairment.

Quite often it can just be down to ignorance though - people who don't know anything about disabilities don't know how to act around those who have disabilities.

So, I have it, but I use a walker to walk and use my wheelchair for school. I'm not a dumb kid, in fact I'm in pre-ap classes. How do you cope with life? Also do you have ever friends with CP? It just makes me mad that people think that other people who have CP are mentally retarded. Yes, this is an effect of CP but that doesn't mean we all are and its hard cause I feel like people treat me different?

I dont have CP, but my brother does. To me, CP makes things alot harder for him, but he seems to get by pretty well. He has alot of friends so that helps. Some people do tend to treat him different, but after getting to know him, they really enjoy talking to him.

me to. im tired of people jugeing me b4 they get to know me. However i can hide that part of me... you can't. So you have my condulences. im very lucky to be healthy and i know it. I can imagen how hard my life would be if everyone i met imedetly knew i was bi... im glad my wheelchair is on the inside, and im sorry yours isn't.

Thanks for posting on my thread, but I'm not really looking for anyone to feel sorry for me. Although, I appreciate your post really I was just hoping to find other people out there and hopefully get people more aware about it. By the way I know how you feel and maybe you can set yourself free by telling people your secret? If they like you they like you and if they don't then they don't. I had trouble with this at first because at my school everyone thinks I'm dumb because they listen to rumors and never bother to know me. I'm not dumb though in fact I'm in the Top 15 percent of my class. As to your situation, if I were you I would just tell people because if you do then maybe it wouldn't hurt you as much to keep hiding it.
