Ok, so I am a 16-year-old camp councillor at a small day camp for ages 5-12. There are 3 other councillors and the family who owns the camp. However, the main member of the family that is currently running the camp is the 22-year-old son of the owners.
Over the past week, I have noticed that he strongly favours some of the campers over others. Mainly the loud, attention-seeking boys. He is pretty nice to most of the campers, except for a couple of the older girls who are at times, a bit obnoxious. For example, one of the girls was being a bit annoying(I don't know what she was doing) while his response was: "You are the least annoying person in the world. Now go sit in the corner." Was the main offense.
Also, one of the younger boys(that he favours) had to wear a lifejacket in the pool. So to make this boy feel better, the leader calls him "sexy" in front of thte camp. He has also called him "sexy" during other parts of camp.
He also at times, will let kids get away with using words such as "retard." I will try to punish them, but the leader apparently doesn't believe in punishment. Is this acceptable? What should I do?
