I heard that is suppose to be served hot. I'd give it a try but then again I'd drink anything with alcohol content that doesn't blind you.

It doesn't have to be.
The family I had it with served their at just under room temperature to me when I tried it the first time. I asked them about it being served hot, but they said it's all preference.

However, it is hilarious to see someone gulp down a little cup of sake when they don't realize it's being served so hot, and they have to suffer through the pain.
