Anyone seen it?  Really, the show Reba is good, but that episode bothers me.  As much as it trys to come across saying that it's okay and you don't have to be ashamed if you're on food stamps, I don't think it got the point across correctly.  My boyfriend's family is on food stamps and he felt sort of offended by that episode.  I'd have to agree with him on this one too.

Have you seen it?  What do you think?

my family is on food stamps. getting finacially help doesnt mean you're not financially stable, it just means you need some support to BE financially stable. shit, I drive an '07 audi :)

i've never seen that episode. but i dont see why he's offended by it, being on food stamps isn't really a bad thing.

WTF are you talking about?  I agree, there are those that misuse the system, but not everyone on food stamps is like that.

I can see why he was offended. It did shed a less than glamorous life on the family in the show. It's just tv though. It did nothing to reflect on him as a person. Tell him to cheer up dear.

He's not ashamed of it.  He knows his family has a rough time and there is nothing wrong with taking help when it's offered.  But the way the characters acted (like Brock, Reba, and Barbara Jean) was as if they should be ashamed, like they were too good for it, like those who were on it were all lazy and so on and so forth.  THAT'S why he was offended.
