Well technically she's right--he probably did chuckle to himself and say "I know!!" actually he's a limey so he probably slapped his thigh and said "Too bloody right!!" which is an opinion, about the original topic which he then reproduces without reference, perhaps hoping to have some of those culturally diverse agreement-laugher responses attributed to something he nurtured into existence.
