Please only help me if you've had a general anasthetic.

I had a general anasthetic yseterday and i'm finding it really difficult to urinate, like, i have to run the tap.. and push REALLY Hrad on my bladder to urinate. How did you overcome this problem? How can i make it any easier?

Someone said have a one hour got bath to relax my muscles but i just got out of hospital i cant get in the bath! I'm stocked up on medication i don't want to faint and drownd!

How can i return my bladder to its normal working statues?

Talk to your prescriber. This isn't a normal side effect. try to get on some different meds.

go to the doctor if you are very conserned about it...or heck...just call his/her ofice and ask...yes embarassing but she/he will forget..and you will stop worrying soo much.

Umm. I don't think I've ever had this problem. I would talk to a doctor about it. It's not healthy to not pee. If you are embarrassed about it, have a parent do it, or something. You should get it checked out. Good luck!

When I had general anesthesia, they also gave me a second medication to help with that. Without the medicine, I found it very difficult to urinate, but it is a side effect. You can call your doctor and get a medicine to help you.

Both times I had General Anesthesia I was unable to urinate for 5 hours at a time.
They said it's normal.
And also, it's NOT the tablets you're taking, it's the Anesthesia.
It will wear off, give it some time.
