Well only for a few years now he has been having these like, episodes?
Well I call them episodes where he just falls out of consciousness and then loses his memory of the last few weeks or so, sometimes longer.
It used to be like once every like 6 months, but now he had 2 in one day.
He like goes to sleep or out of consciousness and makes these weird noises like eating and then wakes up not knowing anything.
He has had EEG's PET scans CAT/CT scans, he has a neurologist and everything and they have found nothing.
It's not early signs or Parkinson's or Alzheimer's, they've checked.
He has already had a heart attack.
Today he had an episode in the car taking my sister to school, she didn't know what to do, and later on he found out and broke down getting all upset and crying and suicidal and my sister thinking she had done something wrong doing the same.
Mum was at work - unreachable
So I had to be the one who was ok, the one helping everyone else when all I wanted to do was cry too but I couldn't! And it hurt so much :(

Is that selfish?
Does anyone know why this is happening to him?
Any ideas?

If these episodes only last for a fraction of a second it is called blinking.

No it takes him a few hours to get everything back, its been over 12 hours and he is still not really there..
Plus his sense of taste was off, and even simple things like pressing remote control buttons, he couldn't remember which one is which and stuff. Which he normally does, even if he has lost his memory because he has been doing it for like 50 years and they don't affect those things.

No you're not selfish at all.

I'm thinking that he could be having mini-strokes. I'm not sure. I know a woman who used to have mini strokes all the time. The symptoms are very minute but having them a lot could cause twice the damage if he's having them daily.

Here are the symptoms for a mini-stroke:

  • Confusion
  • Weakness
  • Unconsciousness
  • Dizziness

Like I said before, I'm not exactly a doctor but maybe he's having those episodes out of confusion from becoming unconscious. I don't understand how they can't get this on a CAT/CT Scan. Did you guys try more than one Neurologist? I think you should. What one Doctor won't find another one will.

Mini-Stroke

It could also be an early sign of Dementia.
Dementia is somewhat like Alzheimer's disease, but its a slower(Kind of) process of the deterioration of the Brain. I've also known someone with Dementia.

    Symptoms of Dementia
  • Memory Loss
  • Difficulty preforming tasks
  • Changes in Mood
  • Disorientation

Dementia

Check for this too.
I don't understand this though, if he's having something like Memory loss a scan should've picked it up. Like I said, try more doctors.

I hope I helped.
Good Luck.
