I've never understood why American people who are supposedly a 1/3, 1/4, 1/8 irish or w/e they manage to link back to their ancestors, make this huge deal about them being Irish.

Ranting about the Emerald Isle......have they ever even fucking been there?

I'm generalising ofc, but it seems common for them to plug their 'irish roots', yet half have no idea whats gone in that country.
